GGL is an independent laboratory and we offer analytical testing, product development services. We have helped companies to develop new products. We can also monitor quality of incoming quality of materials (IQA).

Polymer identification:

We can identify the polymer used to make a plastic part. Polymer identification is an essential step to ensure that correct type and grade of polymer is used in the molding process. Polymer Identification can also reveal additional information about any additives, surface contamination, etc.

Polymer Melt (Thermal Analysis) :

Differential scanning calorimetry can be used to measure a number of characteristic properties of plastic samples. Using this technique it is possible to determine melting and crystallization temperatures as well as glass transition temperatures Tg.

Filler Quantification:

Resins that are used to make plastic parts with, may have fillers such as glass fibers Magnesium Silicate. The quantity and quality of these fibers play a major role in performance of the plastic parts.

Plastic Additives (Plasticizers, etc) :

Plasticizers are normally added to some polymers (such as PVC) to give flexibility. The amount of plasticizer affects the performance of the plastic parts.
Plastic Failure Analysis:
When plastic parts and other products fail, we can analyze these products or parts and provide the customers with a report describing the plausible cause of the failure.  We help our customers who get their products manufactured abroad to ensure the ingredients used are as specified and their percentages.
Our lab has the capability to process plastic, water and other samples to quantify elements such as Lead, Mercury, Chromium, Hexavalant Chromium

Phthalates Quantification:

Phthalates are used as plasticizers in plastic parts. Recent government regulations restrict manufacturers the amount of phthalate plasticizer that can be present in their plastic parts.
